Edward Seymour. flutist:
Edward has performed with favorable reception throughout the Midwest, in New England, and abroad. As a
member of Inter-Arts Associates, he toured Michigan conducting workshops in contemporary flute techniques and
multimedia performance practices. He performed chamber music with Brandon's(VT) Point Counter Point Chamber Players and the
Contemporary and Modern Consort of Ann Arbor(MI).
His orchestral credits include seasons with the Vermont Symphony, the Ann Arbor symphony, and the Ann Arbor Chamber Orchestra.
Honors include a listing in International Who's Who in Music(1980), and, as the recipient of a Rotary
nternational Award in 1979, he oured and studied in southern France and northern Spain.
Seymour holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Michigan, where he studied with Keith Bryan.
Additional flute studies have been at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, with Robert Willoughby,
and the Conservatoire National de Toulouse, with Jaqcues Tiberge.
Private study and intensive workshops have included the masterclasses of Jean-Pierre Rampal and Michel Debost in Michigan,
study with Harvey Sollberger in New York, Judith Bentley in Ohio, Frances Shelly in Michigan, and Edward Powell in Vermont.
He currently performs as vocalist and flutist with theAlbuquerque-based male vocal ensemble, De Profundis,
and recently joined the vocal roster of Canticum Novumof Santa Fe.
He teaches on the faculty of the Conservatory at Santa Fe Music and Piano.
