Eliane's group of young belly dancers

After the parade, stay and enjoy the festive atmosphere. The Mine Shaft Tavern is having a special evening of celebration: The Sonic Fleur, "World Lounge Music for Lovers Dinner Show" with vocalist Jill St. Thomas and Lounge Musician Glenn Neff from 7 - 9 pm.
Businesses will be open late on Saturday evenings and all day Sundays each weekend 'til Christmas AND LIGHTS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH FIRST WEEK OF JANUARY.
Look for Santa in the parade and each weekend on the Main Street of Madrid. It's a great opportunity for a holiday photo. Festivities Each Weekend 'til Christmas-Town of Lights
Bring the family and visit with Santa as you stroll down our historic village. Madrid's community Christmas tree will be on display at Maggie's Diner, the original Wild Hog's movie set, where holiday activities will also be taking place.
Madrid has a long history associated with decorating the town at Christmas time. Beginning in the 1920's through the 1950's, Madrid was a flourishing coal mining town of 4,000 people! The holidays were a time when the company-owned town could show off its electrical power, as they displayed more than 100,000 lights. The illuminated hillsides were filled with Christmas sceneries and our current holiday cutouts continue the tradition.
Enjoy this holiday season and visit Madrid's unique, creative community of more than 40 shops and galleries, representing 100's of artists and offering unique & authentic fine art, crafts, jewelry, and much more.
Many merchants welcome holiday visitors with free hot chocolate, cider and cookies!
We look forward to seeing you this holiday season!
